Austin Repatriation Monitor Mounting Upgrade
Case Study
JANUARY 2024 – Through collaboration with Mindray, TekEquipment were pleased to deploy CIMmed Arms at Austin Repatriation Hospital.
The Austin Repatriation Hospital in Heidelberg, Melbourne, recently upgraded its patient monitoring infrastructure with TekEquipment's CIMmed height-adjustable arms for Mindray’s A9 anaesthetic machines and the site’s existing fleet of Philips MX750 patient monitors. This project aimed to enhance workflow efficiency, improve ergonomic conditions for staff, streamline maintenance for biomedical technicians, and ultimately contribute to better patient care, including foldable keyboard trays to optimize space utilization.
The benefits include improved ergonomics by allowing staff to position monitors at an optimal viewing height, reducing strain. Workflow is enhanced as easily adjustable monitors allow for quick positioning for various tasks and patient needs, improving access to critical information and contributing to a more seamless workflow. Space is optimized by the foldable keyboard trays, maximizing available room in high-traffic or smaller patient care areas. Infection prevention is also improved due to the smooth, easily cleanable surfaces and minimal crevices of the CIMmed arms, simplifying disinfection protocols and reducing the risk of healthcare-associated infections.
For biomedical technicians, maintenance and access are simplified by the robust design of the CIMmed arms. Their durability and reliability ensure a stable and secure platform, reducing potential damage to the monitors and minimizing the need for frequent repairs. Patients benefit from an improved environment due to less clutter and a more organized room. Unobstructed views are maintained as adjustable arms ensure monitors do not obstruct patient views or movement. Overall care delivery is enhanced by empowering staff with ergonomic and efficient tools, indirectly improving the quality and responsiveness of patient care.
The installation of CIMmed arms at the Austin Repatriation Hospital is a strategic investment that enhances the functionality and efficiency of its patient monitoring systems, benefiting nursing and medical staff, biomedical technicians, and patients.
